March 11, 2015 — 9:20 AM

Along the Mississippi will focus on American music and melody. Melody is that magical element of music that captures the imagination and lingers in the memory to be recalled, hummed and whistled. Students will be asked to consider what is a melody? How are melodies conceived? What are the characteristics of a good melody? We will explore the answers to these questions through an exploration of American Music.

These concerts will also feature a performance by one of the winners of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s 2015 Young Artist Concerto Competition.
